Or they may just be very generous and not bothered at all about having their names on your invitation. 

I see, so are there any other things to note?

Yes, this is just one of a number of different scenarios that may affect the way your wedding invitation is worded. For instance both sets of parent may be contributing to the wedding costs, other family members, grandparents etc., may be involved or the couple may be forking out for the whole shebang themselves... or a combination of all of the above might be the case.
